Basic information about PVC:

• melting temperature – 212˚C
• specific gravity – approx. 1,38 g/cm³
• maximal elongation – 20–40%
• nominal tensile durability 70 N/mm²
• PVC kind – soft, with applied plasticizers
• Non toxic, resistant to chemicals
Nominal tensile strength of PVC is 20–30 times lower than steel, with 15–25 times greater expansion ability. All of the technical details of PVC coated ropes concern only their steel part.
Usually we offer galvanized ropes in PVC coating, however on request we can provide stainless ropes in PVC.
In case water would get under the PVC coat, a chemical reaction can take place, where metal oxides (Zinc oxides) and PVC react together, what during a long time span can lead to developing minor quantities of hydrochloric acid. Where such an effect is undesirable, we recommend stainless steel rope.

 

As a standard we offer ropes in transparent PVC. Upon request we are able to provide ropes in different colours, according to the following restrictions:
  • a minimum order for rope in one colour has to be 500 m
  • the colour has to be defined according to a common scale (RAL, RGB, CMYK), as a rule we reject production based on samples. In addition the user can define the degree of transparency (in %).
