Webbing slings can be applied anywhere a load is lifted and moved using a looped sling.
It concerns loads which may be sensitive to pressure (thus easily damaged), and using
belts enables the load to be distributed more evenly on a bigger surface. Belt slings are
mainly used to transport yacht hulls, bunches of copper pipes etc. However the user must
be aware of some limitations in use.
It is forbidden to:
use damaged slings, and exceed their WLL,
use slings without visible manufacturers markings,
use at angles α exceeding 60º,
work at temperatures below -40ºC and +100ºC
work with present chemicals,
pull the load on the surface,
tie knots on the sling,
put a loop on a load where there is a possibility of balancing it,
load belts in a way where the load doesn’t rest on the whole width of a sling,
use a sling when it is damaged on a section which exceeds 10% of its total width
lift loads with sharp edges without proper safety measures
Our company makes projects and implements solutions based on belt slings and round
tubular slings for lifting loads even exceeding 100 tons.
